Day 2 came and went like a blur. The general session had some wonderful speakers, but David Isay took the session by storm. He is the founder of Story Corps and has been dedicated to gathering and archiving personal stories across the nation by inviting people to interview and record the stories of the ones they love. David shared half a dozen clips of audio with those in attendence and there wasn’t a dry eye in the auditorium.
When it came to classes, I very much enjoyed a class called Professinalize Your Blog or Website presented by Laura Hedgecock. It was very informative and as a result this blog will only get better 😉
Along with taking in two classes, today was the first day I was able to explore the back half of the Expo hall. Some great ideas, but product I was impressed with is a portable photo studios called ShotBox. It’s a collapsible box which packs into a very portable carrying case in which objects can be placed. Genealogists and those looking to preserve their family heritage can place their three dimensional heirloom objects, such as medals, trophies and knic knacks and to then be photographed.
With a head full of new knowledge and a bag full of brochures, I’m ready to head back to the hotel to take a nap. Looking forward to tomorrow, the final day.
